This is a good one - I really need to share this store with you! It's too good to keep to myself!

A good buddy of mine has a nutrition store here in Atlanta and the other day I went there to buy some protein powder. He showed me a few new products he just received. I love looking around his store to see what's new on the market. I'm like a kid in a candy store!

We are in the middle of a conversation when a women, around 24-35 years old, came in and started to look around the store. My friend goes over and asks her if he can help, and she said 'I'm looking for a fat burner. Do you have something new? I've tried a few of them and they don't work. I really need to lose weight!'

When I looked at her, do you know what she held in her hand? A chocolate bar. Now why do you think none of the fat burners she used worked? You don't have to be a genius for that. My friend looked at her and said 'you shouldn't eat that if you really want to lose some weight! She started to laugh and just kept on talking like nothing happen.

After a few minutes of chatting with her we discovered this woman wanted to lose some weight but the problem is she doesn't exercise, eats only 2 big meals a day, and uses fat burners to lose weight. I don't understand why shed can't lose weight....(I'm just kidding!!)

My question is how many of you run into this mentality when dealing with clients or friends trying to take shortcuts to lose or gain weight?

Nutrition is the #1 reason people get - or don't get - results!

This is a big problem with a lot of people that I talk to. They think that by taking a pill they will get rid of the fat and look better; the companies do a very good job marketing these wonder pills. I always tell people diet is first, excercise second, supplements third, and it has to be in that order. You just cant take a pill and have a very bad diet and expect to get rid of the fat.

i see it all the time, with friends, family, and co workers asking for recommendations. if anyone is wondering i did start using "Recreate" recently and seem to be having good results so far, no reactions, no sweats, no stomach issues...seem to be having improved work outs as well.

People do not want to put in the hard work they want a quick fix to the results,why do you think they use steriods because they do not have to diet and train as has a natural person who has to understand their nutrition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Totally agree with you Craig! Those guys skip out on the cardio, run-through their training and then say that their gifted.
Yep, I've had several clients ask about fat burners. I just look at them and tell them, no. I also tell them that when they can eat perfectly and do exactly what I tell them regarding cardio, then we'll talk about it. lol. Does this happen...no!
They don't even sign up for a no ogligation free trial? Man, that's sad. When over 60% of Americans are overweight or obese, you can't even give away the only thing that would help them. What's the answer?
Darin - I wish I knew my friend! Was in the Vitamin Shoppe the other day and the staff there see all types that walk in the door. Mostly women some guys they say but most of them are trying to be 'SKINNY' without working out and eating clean. People are clueless!
OMG... You struck a nerve / pet peeve of mine... So true! Great story to highlight the fact fitness is a lifestyle, not a fad or product you can just pull off the shelf.
Couldn't agree with you more. I get approached all the time and the first thing out of my mouth is DIET DIET DIET, eating clean & healthy is the key before anything else. My ex-sister in law was all about the bottle being the fix was too lazy to get off her fat butt and do anything except to hobble to the fridge for another pint of ice cream. I'm the smallest in my office and on the vanpool I take here in DC and I am given crap everyday for the clean 6 small meals and the no going out to eat or eating the cakes and cookies and stuff they bring in. They honestly just don't understand that it is truly a dedicated way of life...
Helene - We all seem to run into people that just don't get it. Interesting that we all have the same stories and are in different places. I get tons of bad attitudes and hate emails from people all the time. Strange is that these people are not that happy with themselves and are quite lazy.
