My Story
My Weight Bio
In my youth, I was pretty petite and underweight. In high school I was a size 0-5. Since high school, I seemed to be struggling slowing up to 185, size 16. According to the BMI, I'm considered obese!! My weakness is Mexican Food, Chips & Salsa, Pizza, and Hamburgers. When I got married in 2003, those meal types became more frequent as we started getting our careers in order. After I had my daughter in 2005, I went up to 175 and have gained another 10.
YoYo Dieter
I tried diets, weight watchers, exercise, but I could never find myself being able to commit. I'd rather lay with my family in front of a movie or table with comfort food. My brother, Eric Lee in the Real Spot, became a personal trainer and eventually made his way to body building. Yet, still I was unable to commit.
Why Now?
What's changed recently is that I recently became a single mother, after 15 years with my high school sweetheart. I love him dearly but he decided that married life was not for him. Instead of getting into a rut and eating myself happy, I decided to dedicate some of my time to living a spiritual, and healthier life. I want more energy to maintain life as a single mother, and I don't want my back to hurt because of my weight.
Changes
In February when I started making changes, I was at 185, and now I'm at 165, down 12% of my starting weight.
The biggest changes to my lifestyle is that I do not even go through a drive through. I've limited myself to beef to once a week, and that's not even every week. No sodas. I've consulted with a nutritionist and she has me on a diet. My brother has been my support in the fitness area.
What I hope to get out of this transformation challenge?
A lifetime commitment to feeling and looking beautiful! I want to be able to have the energy to be the best mother to my daughter and make many memories with her.

I learned that discipline seems challenging at first and once you get into your groove, it doesn't seem like a forced concept. Preparation is important in your meal planning. I didn't have to sacrifice my time spent with my daughter. People are more supportive than you think, and when they know that you're serious, they actually get inspired.
What I gained from this experience is that I have more will power than I thought I had. I have more energy and not as tired. My mood has relaxed dispite any obstacles I'm faced with.
As of today I am at 151 and went down two pant sizes. I trained with my trainer 2-3 times a week, and cardio at least 4-5 times a week. I had a nutritionist helping me watch what I ate and gave me some great tips on substitutions and helped me understand macronutrients. I feel great!!
