Hi all... Thanks so much for your passages around fitness! I decided to start a thread to keep them all in one place so we can refer back when we need a little lift!

Finally I found time to post these verses here-and I don't know if anybody mentioned any of the following already...
Hi, everyone!

Here some verses about athletes and discipline that I can remember now- I'll give you more if I come across more-

1 Timothy 4: 8 "Physical training is good..."

1 Corynthians 9: 24-27 " Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person wins? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize ....so I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadow-boxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. "

Hebrews 12:1-2 "....let us strip off every weight that slows us down...and let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping your eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith."

I think this can apply to the knowledge and experience gained in the fitness arena as well.

** Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. ~1 Peter 4:10~

The next one is for me, at least. I'm new to weights. After severly injuring my ankles, my old forms of fitness came to halt, and God took that which the devil meant for harm, and "in all things God works for the good of those who love Him"

The discovery of weights and clean dieting has been a God send. A "new thing."
