In the beginning...

I was skinny. I mean, back as a teenager. I was a healthy (weighed 110, mostly muscle from dance class), but all I cared about was being thin. In my senior prom picture, I look stunning, like a Barbie doll. Ive never looked better. Flash Forward 15 years and Im the heaviest Ive ever been. 200 pounds, this time... no muscle. Unlike most women, I could care less who knows my number. It's not like I'm fooling anyone by not telling them. Anyone with sight can tell Im overweight. Noone really…See More

What is your REAL story? Do you compete? Do you wish to compete? Are you on a transformation journey? Website??
I'm a regular person, not even very athletic and definitely not a body builder or competitor. I'm just tired of being fat, out of shape and long for the days when I was healthier and didn't put myself last all the time.
Philosophies and Beliefs:
Ive heard other overweight people say "one day i just woke up and said enough is enough and set out on my journey to be fit" I woke up everyday and said that, but nothing happened. I kept waiting for the real day I would say that and mean it. Now I know that day will not come and those people that said that, in retrospect, it probably happened gradually for them, but when they think back they think it was one specific day.
Words of Advice to REAL competitors and those on REAL transformation journeys:
I cant give any advice since I'm the one in need of it obviously. I can tell you from years of experience, putting yourself last and not having time to take care of yourself will take a toll on you physically and emotionally.
What are your favorite supplements and why?
Right now, I'm lucky if I remember to take a multi-vitamin to supplement my poor diet.
Who do you look up to in the fitness industry?
Anyone who doesnt want to be just skinny, but wants to be healthy

Yes, Class of 94'. Were you in my sister's class?

As far as my story with my health, it is headed in the right direction. I finally decided to try and do things the natural way. I mean, what could it hurt right? The medications I was taking for the tumor and PCOS was making things worse rather than better in my opinion. So with the help of Jason and my sis, positive changes are happening. I have to fight a little harder because the health stuff BUT I am ahead of it FINALLY rather than chasing and trying to get ahead of it all. My attitude about it all is NO EXCUSES and just roll with the punches. Results will happen, we just have to be patient. I feel the best I have in years and believe me, times were tough with my health.

Keep working hard and remember the hard times in the beginning will pass. Once your body finally gets over the "shock" and realizes the good stuff you are doing and putting into it is here to stay, it only gets better and better. Your body will work for you as long as you take care of it. You can do it!

Yes, the Air Force was a huge plus in my life. I took a lot of from it. You said your dad is at Hanscom? Man, I tried to get a BOP there but nothing. I wanted that assignment pretty bad. As a matter of fact, I was only stationed at 2 bases while I was in and spent 6 years (yes, I really said 6) at the SAME BASE. My husband on the other hand spent most of his career overseas. I think he was CONUS for training only. So lucky.

Anyway, more soon. It is SO late right now. 2am my time.

Take care!
Jenny
