What is your REAL story? Do you compete? Do you wish to compete? Are you on a transformation journey? Website??

I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at age 8 and heard all my life "you can't, you won't, you shouldn't, you never will". I was never fit growing up, but always dreamed of being healthy. After multiple abdominal surgeries, I had an illieostomy in 1996. I was 'disease-free', but with new limitations. In July of 2009 a Christian trainer helped me lose 40 pounds to 173 and lower my cholesterol from 300+ to 156. At 47, I am in the best shape of my life. I am learning daily what it means to be fit and I love to exercise and share God's blessing in my life!

Philosophies and Beliefs:

Through my years of pain and disease, I realized God gives us unique experiences that He will use one day for His glory. I have had the opportunity to minister to countless people who deal with Crohn's and ask 'why me?'. The pain I suffered is joy for the chance to share Christ and give Him glory through my life. I look to Christ as my example when I say "One man has suffered pain to the benefit of others."

Words of Advice to REAL competitors and those on REAL transformation journeys:

Don't ever believe someone who tells you you can't do something or you shouldn't do something. There is never a time nor a place for negativity. Surround yourself with wise counsel who can provide encouragement with wisdom. Know your limits, but disregard your limitations!

What are your favorite supplements and why?

The only supplement I have ever used is whey protein powder. I have used different brands. I unique needs because of a shortened intestinal tract, therefore require only supplements that are quickly absorbed in the blood stream. Right now, though, I am not taking any supplements because I cannot financially afford it. I pray I can use some again soon to continue to see results and growth.

Who do you look up to in the fitness industry?

Anyone who has overcome an obstacle in their health journey.
