I came out of the womb an athlete; the black sheep of a family of cheerleaders and pompoms. Almost 20 years ago, injuries and life added 100 lbs, making 226 lbs my all-time-high (and mental low). I tried to get into adventure racing, kayak races, and triathlons about 5 years ago that led to Achilles tendonitis in both ankles and the realization of mild scoliosis of the lower back.
